What will you learn during this PubMed course?

You will learn to:

 

- How to turn your search question into terms in PubMed.

- Determine the concepts needed to be combined in your search equations

- Use the boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) and include or exclude text words or subject headings terms [MeSH] to refine search results.

- Use field tags to search titles and abstracts

- Use filters in PubMed to identify "randomized clinical trials", "systematic reviews", limit results to "specific dates" or exclude human/animal studies.  

-Avoid common mistakes (too narrow or few results and too broad or irrelevant results).

- Create an alert to your search queries and document your literature searches.
